SpookySwap: How to Bridge to Fantom

Did you know that you can bridge tokens from Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Polygon and Avalanche to Fantom via the SpookySwap bridge? If not, then read this guide!

As of writing, the SpookySwap bridge supports moving tokens from Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and Polygon to Fantom and vice versa.

To get started, you will need a Web 3 Wallet of your choice (our preference is MetaMask.), and the specific token used for the gas that you are bridging from (example: Ethereum will require ETH).

How to Get Started #

The process of bridging, which should not be confused with swapping, involves moving a token between blockchains. Because the transactions for bridging your tokens are executed on 2 chains, this could take anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours depending on congestion/network traffic.

The status of your deposit transactions can be determined by checking the hashes during this process.

Bridging Tokens to Fantom #

1. You need to Select which Network you want for Bridge Direction

Start by selecting the networks you want to bridge. Since the SpookySwap bridge cannot bridge ETH to BSC or BSC to ETH, one of the networks must be Fantom. Let’s say the chain runs from A to B. To chain A, select A, and to chain B, select B.

2. Select the Token to Bridge

By selecting a token in the “Token to Bridge” field, you will be able to bridge that token. Here’s what it will look like:

3. Choose the Amount you want to bridge to the other blockchain

Make sure the amount you’ve entered is within Anyswap’s minimum and maximum support range. Other tokens can be bridged onto Fantom’s network without incurring a fee! Transferring tokens off of the Fantom network will still be subject to a fee.

4. Select “Bridge Token”

After selecting the “bridge token” button, Metamask will ask for confirmation after which two transactions will occur:

  1. one going out from chain A, and one accepting from chain B.
  2. A fee is automatically deducted from the received amount.

It is important to note that you will receive the same token even after it has been bridged

5. Verify your Bridged Token

Check FTMscan’s activity history to see if it has arrived. Connect your wallet to Fantom Opera, and add the following feature to your wallet to view the token you just bridged over:

  1. Go to Swap
  2. Click on a token button to summon the token selection list
  3. Find the token you’ve just bridged, or import it with its address on Fantom Opera
  4. Click on the “+” to add to your wallet display

Bridging ETH to Fantom #

ETH can be a bit special when trying to bridge over, so we decided to write a separate section to help you bridging ETH tokens to Fantom.

  1. First of all, to bridge ETH you must first wrap it prior to bridging. To do so, go to the Spooky interface:

2. You will be reminded to wrap Ethereum if you select wETH as your token.

This means that your ETH tokens on the Ethereum mainnet must be wrapped. Fortunately, this can be done via the SpookySwap bridge.

3. Click the “Wrap” button after entering the amount of ETH to be wrapped and confirm the transaction

4. To bridge your WETH, start from step 2 in the previous section.

Conclusion #

Bridging has been made quite easy and simple to use on SpookySwap. We hope that this guide is as straightforward as can be since many people are new at bridging tokens over from one network to another. With a bit of practice, you will understand that the process is not as tedious as one could think.

Our mission here at RugDoc is to screen for hard rug code that results in 100% theft of ALL underlying funds for ALL participants.

This is the ONE part of the due diligence process that most people cannot simply do on their own as it costs thousands of dollars to hire a senior solidity developer to look over a farm for safety.

A project coin with terrible code can go up in price, and a project with good code and a good team can also go down in price.

Do NOT use our ratings to refer to your likelihood in making money if you invest in the project. They are ONLY in reference to code safety.

Everything else beyond code safety is YOUR responsibility to go do research on. We just make sure the casino you’re betting in won’t rob you before you even get to place a bet.

Our reviews for projects are organized into a few colors.

🟢 Least Risk
These projects are the least likely to hard or soft rug. Usually reserved for cornerstone projects of an ecosystem where it makes no financial sense for them to rug in any manner as they make more money just being legit.

🔵 Low Risk
These projects are usually established projects in an ecosystem that have a track record of success or have KYC’d to us or other authoritative sources in the real world. As a result, it is extremely unlikely for them to soft rug or hard rug their projects. The projects can still fail and the token price can go down, but usually more as a result of natural market forces.

⚪️ Some Risk
This is the default rating for projects with unknown teams but have code that is unlikely to have hard rug risk. Since the team is unknown and doesn’t have a track record of success, it’s entirely possible that they may try to soft rug by dumping tokens, abandoning the project, etc. Even a last minute contract swap to a malicious contract is possible. The only thing that is unlikely is a complete hard rug as long as you are 100% sure you deposit into the contract we review.

🟠 Medium Risk
Similar to Some Risk, but the underlying code itself is custom enough or complex enough that it warrants an elevated risk rating that needs deeper research. Make sure you read every point presented to make sure you’re comfortable with that before entering. Still unlikely to hard rug, but more chances of custom code behaving incorrectly and causing other issues.

🔴 High Risk
Project contains code or practices that are HIGHLY LIKELY to lead to catastrophic losses as they are right now. Make sure you read the description carefully as we will always warn what these issues are. If you see the words Hard Rug anywhere in the review, STAY FAR AWAY!

⚫️ Not Eligible
We reserve the right to not review exceedingly complex projects that would require tens of thousands of dollars of senior security analyst man hours. Typically these are projects that deal with leverage, lending, options, derivatives, and anything that is overly complex and which requires tons of peer reviews and audits from top audit companies.
